4th of July Card

Next week will be the Fourth of July so this week I wanted to make a 4th of July card. I got the banner and phrase from the Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge and the frame from the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge. To add a little something to the card I decided to add white stitching to the banner and around the front of the card and I used foam to pop up the banner and frame. I also added some star brads and then a banner and hat on the inside of the card and again I put white stitching on the banner. This was my first time putting stitching on a card and I love the way it adds a little more to the card. I had so much fun making this card and I hope you can use this card idea.

Supplies:
Red Cardstock
Pattern Paper (Studio G Blue Paper Pack)
White Cardstock
Blue Cardstock
Create a Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge (Banners, Phrase, & Hat)

Birthday Shape Card

This week I made another shape card for the challenge over at Krafty Girls. This is my second shape card and they are so fun to make. I found the birthday present shape on the Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge and thought that this would make a cute and simple shape card. I also thought about how you can never have too many birthday cards in your stash. Even though this card would not just have to be a birthday card since I used the sentiment "Celebrate" instead of "Happy Birthday". This card could be used for many occasions just by changing the colors and sentiment.

 Supplies:
Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge
Pink Cardstock
Pattern Paper (Recollections: The Bright and Basic Pad)
Purple Cardstock
Studio G "Celebrate" Stamp
White Gelly Roll Pen
Tape Runner
Scotch Scrapbooker's Glue
Foam Squares

Wedding Card

It's wedding season and this week at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog the challenge is to make a wedding card or project. I have a cousin that is getting married in August so this challenge is perfect. I love the way black and white cards look so elegant. Therfore I decided to use these colors for the card. I used the Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge for the hearts and the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge for the frame and phrase. I also used foam dots to give the card a little dimension. This is just a simple weddingbcard but I think the black and white is so beautiful.

Supplies:
Black Cardstock
White Cardstock
Patterned Paper (Colorbok Paper Plus+ Fruit Punch)
Hearts (Create a Critter 2 cartridge)
Frame & Phrase (Lyrical Letters cartridge)
Tape Runner
Scotch Scrapbooker's Glue
Foam Dots

Music Themed Card

Hey guys! Today I am bringing you a music themed card. The challenge this week at the Krafty Girls Challenge Blog is to created a music themed project. I took piano lessons for many years when I was younger so the first thing I thought of was all my piano books that I still have. So for the layer on the front of my card I took a page of sheet music and made a copy of it onto white card stock. Then of course you can not have music without notes. So I put a big music note on the front of the card and some small music notes on the inside of the card. I gave the card a little dimension by using foam dots under the music note on the front of the card and the phrase. This card was so fun to make and made me want to sit down and play the piano which I have not done in a long time.

Supplies:
Black Cardstock
White Cardstock
Create a Critter 2 Cartridge (Music Notes)
Lyrical Letters Cartridge (Frame and Phrase)
Tape Runner
Scotch Scrapbooker's Glue
Foam Dots

More Father's Day Cards for Challenges

Hi everyone! I am back with another idea for a Father's Day card for the dads that love technology. I did this card for the Krafty Girls challenge this week. The challenge was to find a Pinterest inspired paper craft and make it. This challenge was great for me because I am always looking for ideas on Pinterest. I also found a couple of other Father's Day card challenges on  Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and Cuttin and Stampin that I will be entering this card into. On the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, the challenge is to create a Father's Day card that you made with your Cricut. This card was made by just using Cricut Craftroom Basics. Therefore it is great for everyone whether they have lots of Cricut cartridges or just beginning their collection of cartridges like me. Then the Cuttin and Stampin challenge is to create a Father's Day card. I love challenges because they also help to inspire me.
Here are the cards I was inspired to make:
I made a smaller one to look like an iPhone and a larger one to look like an iPad.

Supplies:
Black Cardstock
Patterned Paper from Colobok Paper Plus+ Fresh Linen
Red Cardstock (for the heart)
White Cardstock (for the idad)
White Gelly Roll pen (to draw the square on the button)
Corner Rounder

The original post was on a blog named Moxie Fab World and here is a picture of the card that inspired me:

Create a Critter 2 Father Day Cards

My Father's Day cards are done just in time for Father's Day this weekend. I used the Create a Critter 2 cartridge to make the cards. I found this card idea on page 46 of the Create a Critter 2 handbook. On page 46 there are a few golfing related images but since my father and father-in-law do not play golf I decided to just use the bear and let him be the card. So for the card base I use Cricut Craftroom to copy, flip, and weld the bear together. Then I cut out the other bear layers, the clothes, and the phrase and then put them all together to make this simple and cute Father's Day card. The great thing about this card is that it can be use for all occasions by just changing the colors and phrase inside the card. There are so many different ways this card could be used. I hope that you can use this card idea.
Challenges:
FCCB: Father's Day
Cuttin and Stampin: Father's Day

Supplies:
White Cardstock (Card Base)
Dark Brown Cardstock (Dad Bear)
Beige Cardstock (Dad Bear Shift)
Light Brown Cardstock (Layer)
Light Blue Cardstock (Accessory & Phrase Shift)
Patterned Cardstock (Accessory Shift)
Light Green Cardstock (Phrase)
Tape Runner
Scotch Scrapbooker's Glue

Collective Haul from Michael's and Wal-Mart

I am currently making a couple of Father's Day cards and I did not have the color card stock I needed so I went to Michael's. Of course while I was at Michael's I had to look around the store to see if there was anything new and what all was on sale. I could not just go in and get the card stock and leave. That would just not be right. :) While looking around I found some small paper packs by Studio G and they had four different colors (pink, yellow, green, and blue) so I bought one of each color. I also got a white Gelly Roll pen because I like how people put the white dashes on their cards to add a little something. The last thing I got was a stamp that has four different sayings (Just For You From, Created With Love, Hand Crafted For You, & Hand Stamped For You). I am excited to stamp them on the Father's Day cards and make more cards so that I can use them on the back. I also like to crochet so I thought this stamp would be great to make little tags to pin onto crochet pieces that I give as gifts. Then I went to Wal-Mart and found some paper pads on sale for 50% off so I picked up three 12 X 12 paper pads all by Colorbok, one 6 X 6 paper pad also by Colorbok, and then a pack of Sudio G 12 X 12 paper. Now I can finish my Father's Day cards and I have lots of paper to make lots more cards and many other paper crafting projects. :)

Mother's Day Card

A few months ago I found Stacy Williams' You Tube channel and she has a great Create a Critter 2 card series. I began watching her videos in the series and decided I just had to have the Create a Critter 2 cartridge. There are so many card possibilities and the critters are adorable. Once I got the cartridge the next holiday was Mother's Day so I decided to make my mother and mother-in-law a Mother's Day card instead of buying one. The images for the card I made can be found on page 44 of the Create a Critter 2 handbook and I just love the way the card turned out. My mother and mother-in-law were surprised to get a hand made card instead of a store bought card. Now I am looking forward to using the Create a Critter 2 cartridge to make some Father's Day cards.

Supplies used to make this card:
Light Pink Cardstock
Dark Pink Cardstock
Light Blue Cardstock
Dark Blue Cardstock
White Cardstock
Purple Cardstock
Pattern Cardstock from Recollections: The Bright and Basic Pad
Cricut
Create a Critter 2 Cartridge
Tape Runner
Scotch Scrapbooker's Glue
Black Fine Tip Scrapbooking Pen

Owl Duck Tape

I am so excited! This past weekend while in Wal-Mart I found some owl Duck Tape. It was just too
cute to pass up. I am not sure what I will use it for but I am sure I can come up with something.
